LEASE (FL) FOR COMPANIES Finance Lease for Companies
Typically structured in the same way as Lease Purchase with
or without a balloon payment at the end of the term to have
the effect of reducing the monthly instalments.
A percentage of VAT can be reclaimed on the monthly rentals
depending on the usage of the car.
If the car will be used for personal and business use then
you can only claim back 50% of any rentals. Finance Lease
agreements can be settled early.
Best suited to companies who:
 Wish
to take advantage of being able to claim back VAT on rentals
Who
look for tax efficiency and positive cash flow
Who
do not want the car to appear on the company’s balance
sheet.
The sum of outstanding rentals will appear on the company
balance sheet and tax relief can be gained by:
Offsetting
a percentage of each rental against tax
(subject to ‘The Half Excess Rule’ which calculates how
much percentage
one can claim according to the original value of the car
when new.)
